This page is all about our instructors and such. I'm happy to say that the Heberts are still with the band/guard. This year we have someone new helping us, Tom Padgett!   I will try to put some pictures of the lovely band parents up because we all know you can't survive band without them! Kevin Hebert

Mr. Hebert graduated from Irmo highschool from South Carolina in 1997. He marched 3 years at the University of South Carolina, where he recieved a degree in Music Education. He also marched 1 season with the Cadets in 2000 (1st place DCI world Championships). Kevin has assisted with marching for several local high-school bands. He taught 3 summers with the Batesburg-Leesville marching band, and assisted with drill writing and marching for 2 seasons w/ Lexington Highschool winter percussion. Mr. Hebert is currently in his 3rd season as the Director of the Tennessee High Mighty Viking Band.

Noel Hebert

Noel started her colorguard career at Spring Valley High School in South Carolina. When she graduated, in 1997, she marched 1 year with Carolina Crown (they placed 12th at DCI world Championships). She also marched 1 year with the University of South Carolina, 2 seasons of winterguard with Millenia, and 1 season with Infiniti (WGI open class). Noel also assisted with the Lexington Highschool fall/winter guard for 3 years. Now, she is teaching her 5th season with the THS guard.

 

 

Tom Padgett

Tom Padgett is a trumpet major studying music education at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee.  Tom began his guard experience at J.J. Kelly High School in Wise, Virginia, where he participated in his high school winter guard his Junior and Senior year.  Tom's freshman year in college brought new opportunities and he joined Absolute Winter Guard from Johnson City, Tennessee.  Absolute Winter Guard was an Independent A group that participated in WGI Regionals and the SCGC circuit.  Prior to marching with Absolute Tom began working with guards and band programs around the East Tennesee and Southwest Virginia area.  Also, Tom  marched with The Cast Winter Guard from Taylors, South Carolina.  The Cast is a 2005 WGI Independent A World Class Finalist.  The Cast is a member of WGI and the CIPA cirucit.  Along with marching The Cast, Tom marched with the drum corps,  Madison Scouts. Madison Scouts placed 6th at DCI World Finals in Boston, MA. Tom will be returning to The Cast for their 2006 season.  Tom first began helping with Tennessee High during the 2005 Winter Guard season, working along side of and under the guidance of Noel Hebert and Kevin Hebert.



All of our instructors are helping with Appalachain Sound ( http://www.appalachiansound.org/) this year. Appalachain Sound is a developing drum corps. Noel and Tom are co-caption heads for the colorguard. Mr. Hebert is also a co-caption head for the brass.
